- Summary: Frommer's Paris
- Comment: As always the Frommer folks have put great information in a readable format for a very reasonable price. I think these are the best travel guids around becuase they tell you what you need to know about a place and what to watch out for.

- Summary: Good map thats it
- Comment: First this book has a lot of great information about the sites around Paris. So does wikipedia and the actual websites of the places you want to visit.
I originally bought this book over others because I saw there was a section "Especially for kids." It was only four pages long.
I wonder how any one could actually complete the section The Best of Paris in 3 Days. First, pretty much every place you can enter opens around 9-10am and closes around 18:00 or 21:00 depending on the day. The sporadic spacing of the places along the "Best" plan make following it a hard task to follow. I imagine most tourists would like to spend more than 30 minutes at the Louvre or want to ascend the Eiffel Tower, and following the plan would make it impossible. I will admit, I naively believed I could successfully navigate my family through much of the "Best" plan, but after two hours at the Louvre I realized there is no possible way using the metro or bus system to do anything other than take pictures of some the places in the plan.
After realizing the book was nothing other than a mini wikipedia stuffed with facts I could read or learn about in museum pamphlets, I put the book away and used the ok street map included. Best advice of the book was about getting a Paris Viste pass.
1. Skip this book, get a good street map with metro stops, check out the Paris Metro website and read up on the Paris Viste pass, and then check out the Museum sites you are interested in. Using the RATP (metro site) and the museum websites I was able to structure a easier to follow plan.
2. Or find another book.

- Summary: Paris for everyone with Frommers Paris 2010
- Comment: This is the best guide of Paris I have read.
I may well be biased because it had my favourite painting featured - The wedding at Cana.
The book tells of many activities to do and many places to see, walks to enjoy and concerts to hear.
And for the those of us who enjoy a shop, there is an excellent shopping guide.
This year I am basing my entire holiday around Frommers Paris 2010
It is the detail that makes this a standout guide to Paris

- Summary: Paris guide came in handy
- Comment: We took the Frommer's Paris 2010 on our April 2010 trip to Paris. We used the maps regularly as we wandered around the city, and found our favorite breakfast/lunch place (Angelina's) by using it. A fine reference, and a good way to get comfortable with the city.
